Strategic Collaboration and Policy Influence

Our Aim: Foster the development of strategic partnerships and alliances to increase the participation, resources and collective commitment in improving sexual health in Ireland and the reduction of crisis pregnancy.

In order to meet our statutory functions it is a requirement of the Sexual Health & Crisis Pregnancy Programme to influence policy development in the broad areas of sexual health and crisis pregnancy.

The Sexual Health & Crisis Pregnancy Programme has formed a number of strategic partnerships with government departments and statutory and non-statutory agencies to promote cross-sectoral change in order to deliver on its strategic objectives.

The Sexual Health & Crisis Pregnancy Programme attempts to share its knowledge and expertise with a range of stakeholders to standardise service provision and delivery and promote an evidence-based approach to crisis pregnancy prevention. It does this through a process of dissemination, partnership and information-sharing.

Key actions / work in this area:

  • Policy submissions and presentations to promote an evidence-informed approach to policy development.
  • Developing partnerships at government level, with professional bodies and representative organisations and with service providers to define common goals and promote cross-sectoral working.
