Thursday 19th June 2013 – Think Contraception will be heading to the Sea Sessions Surf and Music Festival in Donegal this weekend to remind sexually active young adults to use condoms every time they have sex.
The summer months are times when people are more likely to take a chance and have sex without using condoms. 80% of young people use contraception every single time they have sex. That means 20% – or one in five – take risks from time to time and can end up contracting an STI or having a crisis pregnancy.
The Think Contraception Team will be at events all over the country this summer – Dublin, Kilkenny, Galway, Offaly, Kildare, Wicklow, Laois, Meath distributing ‘Think Contraception’ protection packs, which contain sexual health information as well as a condom.
For the first time this summer, tired festival goers will have the chance to get a short spin around outdoor festival/concert venues in the Think Contraception ‘Johnny Mobile’.
The campaign character ‘Johnny’ who represents the safety and reassurance of using a condom will be making special appearances at events throughout the summer. To find out more visit Johnny at his personal Twitter account @thinkjohnny or on his facebook page Facebook.com/thinkjohnny.
Think Contraception will be running competitions to win Think Contraception Festival Packs, One4all vouchers, Festival tickets and much more throughout the summer. To be in with a chance of winning these goodies follow ‘Johnny’ on twitter @thinkjohnny or ‘like’ his Facebook page.
Summer love might be in the air –
but make sure “Johnny’s got you covered”
